Elizabeth Akers is a graphic facilitator, leader of strategic workshops, expert ideator and design thinking/consumer insight professional. The common threads among her skills, talents, training, and experience are “fast listening”, and a deep belief that understanding the problem and then defining it are critical to solving it. She uses her varied toolkit to keep participants inspired, engaged, and focused on the work at hand.
For over 20 years, Elizabeth has worked with a variety of companies, including Accenture, HP, Marriott, Discover, Merck, Janssen, McDonald’s, Mondelez, Radio Flyer, various design firms, and more. She is the founder of erazerbelt, a creative collaboration firm based in Chicago, Illinois and is a certified facilitator of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method and materials.
Background
Prior to receiving her Master of Design degree in Human-Centered Product Design from the Institute of Design, IIT in 2004, Elizabeth worked with the Cap Gemini Ernst and Young’s business accelerator, the Accelerated Solutions Environment.
Elizabeth received her BFA in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1997. She is named on two U.S. patents for her design work associated with The Universal Kitchen Project.
Elizabeth lives in Chicago, Illinois with her husband and three children.
